Welcome! Introducing Me

First things first, my name is Melany (but you can call me Mel). I’m 20 years old and am a college student in Gainesville, FL. I’m an aspiring RN and slowly, but surely making my journey there. Outside of class and study time, I love to be at home with my dogs and boyfriend as we binge watch shows on Netflix. I would say I’m a homebody (or borderline lazy). This makes sense because I am a very introverted person. Although, I can be more social in the right context. Something else you should know is that I was actually born in Long Island, New York and I am part of a fully Hispanic family (from Dominican Republic). I lived there until the summer of 2007, when my family and I moved to Florida, which is where we presently reside. Now, we are all scattered across Florida. My sister and I now attend college; I go to Santa Fe College in Gainesville, and Pattie goes to Valencia College in Orlando. My parents, however, remained in Ocala. It is not unusual that we don’t see each other very often anymore because everyone is so distant now.

Some other things I enjoy doing (when the time is given) include hanging out with friends, going out to eat, just having a good time, and occasionally go to the beach. Recently, I have taken the opportunity to start working out. It won’t be like I used to in high school, but it is definitely a challenge I hope to make a habit. The reason being is because I want to live a healthy lifestyle. (It also gives me something to do). If you know me, you know that I love to eat and luckily enough, the benefits to working out include gaining a faster metabolism— which in turn, gives me reason to eat more, or at least compensate for the quantities of food that I eat.

I am beginning this blogging journey to expand my horizons and express my inner me (and also to give me something to do, let’s be honest). For years, I have always had the desire to create my own website/blog about everyday things. Along with that, I’ve also wanted to incorporate some of my amateur photography and writing. I haven’t gotten much into these as I would like, mostly because of how busy life can get with school, work, and wanting to chill. But, I can at least give it a try (I even added some of my personal photos into this post).

That being said, I’m excited to see what the future holds.

So, here’s to new beginnings!

To all you other bloggers (or nonbloggers) out there, let me know how I did on my first blog post! Was there anything I should add? Subtract? Change? Below is where you can comment on this post, which I will gladly take under consideration.

Thank you so much for getting to know me!

Lots of love,
